Blogs are meant to be personal and devoid of all mercantilism, at least in original intent. If advertisers are interested in your site, it's because the quality of your work has created somewhat of a following and your numbers, your stats, are high. Good for you. Helps pay bills.

What then of "personal" blogs that are put together with some snazzy graphics and logos, and then, immeditalely, advertised on other people's blogs? Am I naive to think that blogs should not advertise themselves but rather be advertised on? The work you put into your site should generate the word of mouth you need to get the magical hit numbers Blogads people want.

Maybe I am indeed naive, but it just seems to me like advertising your own blog is just vulgar. You're creating ads that basically say, proclaim even, "Look at me, my life is so interesting".
