The big move is finally over. Four guys showed up on Sunday morning, speaking all of 12 words of English (combined) and had my entire place packed into the truck in under an hour. They were amazing - one dude wrapped my 32-inch CRT TV in a blanket, then rolled a bunch of tape around it, and just flipped it on his back, as if it was nothing.

Moving is a good occasion to take stock in one's life, and my shipping manifest (I have OCD, OK - every box was cross-referenced and such) says that out of 37 boxes, 14 were kitchen stuff. I had a box with just pie tins and molds, and another one with kitchen gadgets, like vegetable peelers and mushroom brushes. What the fuck. I really should cook much more to justify this.

I am right now "borrowing" a neighbor's Wifi, but it appears as though I should be all connected again as soon as this weekend (only took 15 minutes on the phone with Comcast - a world record I'm sure).

Meanwhile I have finally unpacked the box that my manifest refers to as "booze", so a Black martini is in my very near future.
